Max Mayhem is a staff sergeant and main protagonist of the sci-fi book The Price of Dawn and all its sequels. He, according to Hazel Grace, is vaguely likeable though he kills 118 humans in 284 pages.
He is said not to have a technical personality, but his adventures keep happening. He once tries to save a blond, American hostage from the Enemy, but is shot 17 times and despite that, he lives. Hazel does not despair, as she suspects more sequels can be written about his cohorts, Specialist Manny Loco and Private Jasper Jacks.
